Es Traves 5
07108 Puerto de Soller
Majorca - Mallorca

The 4 star Hotel Esplendido is located at the beginning of Soller Marina, right where the pedestrian way starts and in front of the sea. Bought by the Swedish couple Mikael and Johanna Landstrom, also owners of the design Portixol Hotel in Palma de Mallorca, this run-down relic from the 1950's was fully refurbished during 2004/2005 and converted in to a design boutique hotel. While the hotel faces the sea, there is a small 5 minutes walk to the nearest beach.
The hotel offers 84 rooms with called after where they look and their facilities: "Garden Patio", "Sea View Terrace", "Sea View Balcony"... All of them are air conditioned and equipped with bathroom with bathtub and hairdryer, free safety box, mini bar, TV, DVD and CD Player, king size beds and either views to their gardens or the sea. The bigger ones such as the "Sea View Terrace" will fit up to 2 adults and 2 children (in a sofa bed which converts in 2 children beds). Baby cots are provided for free by request.
The Esplendido Hotel has been adapted for people with disabilities, including 2 special rooms, the lifts and the access to the SPA and the pool area. However, this can be a little longer than usual, as you may take the lift until the 5th floor to then arrive to the swimming pool area by crossing the bridge that connects the upper floor with the gardens.
At the reception area (24 hours) you will find daily newspapers, free Internet access, a small souvenir shop and luggage rooms for those with late departures.
Hotel facilities include a lounger/cocktail bar, a bistro serving Mediterranean and international cuisine, a small SPA area with sauna, Turkish bath, massages and gym,
2 swimming pools (one of them with separate children area) with sunbeds and parasols and a small lounge area on the top where you can sit and play one of the thousands vinyls available. In the reception you can also get for free one of the many DVD's or CD's available from their library.
Bookings can only be done on a bed and breakfast basis, but the restaurant is open all days (bookings are highly recommended to ensure a table) and the area is also plenty of places where to enjoy from a quick snack to typical mallorcan cuisine.
Note: the hotel remains closed from middle November to March.
