The Platja Daurada Aparthotel (which means Golden Beach in English) is located right in front of the sea, facing the sandy Can Picafort beach ad only 100 metres from the resort centre. Built in 1993 and renovated during 2000, the complex features 316 rooms, including 62 apartments, 208 double rooms, 24 single and 16 suites.
All guest rooms at the Platja Daurada are air conditioned and come equipped with fully equipped bathroom with shower and hairdryer,Satellite TV, safe-deposit box (fee payable), direct dial telephone and balcony or terrace facing either the sea or the wood. Additionally, all the apartments come equipped with kitchenette with fridge and lounge/dining room with sofa beds. Rooms fit up to 2 adults and 2 children. Cots are available by request.
Hotel facilities include a 24 hour reception with currency exchange and luggage rooms for late departures, free parking, car, motorbike and bicycle hire, laundry and medical services, games room, snack bar, public Internet terminals and both pool and lounge bars. Furthermore, the hotel has an air conditioned buffet style restaurant with showing cooking and a large selection of spanish and international dishes.
Leisure facilities which guests can enjoy include a large freshwater swimming pool with complimentary sun loungers and parasol as well as towel service, children's playground and mini club, hard surface tennis court, mini golf course and a multi-purpose sports activity area. Furthermore, guests have an smaller indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, jacuzzi and gymnasium.
The Platja Daurada runs a seasonal entertainment programme including dancing nights, professional shows with magicians, flamenco show together with the thematic Spanish meal and mini disco for children, followed by games (in the evenings, 6 times a week). Additionally, children can enjoy their mini club with table games, painting competitions, pony rides (fee payable), pool games and activities on the beach.
